FOSTEL 2007
Free Software/Open Source Telephony Summit, 4-5 April 2007
...why should this year be any different?
European Institute of Technology
This year, the Free Software and Open Source Telephony Summit comes to Paris, France on the 4th and 5th of April. The event is being hosted by Wengo, in association with the German Unix Users Group and Epitech.
Summit information
This year will be the fourth edition of FOSTEL - for the past three years, the summit has been organised by the German Unix Users Group (GUUG). This year, the event broadens its scope beyond telephony, to include any type of real-time rich collaboration over the internet. This includes VoIP, telephony, instant messaging, and other collaborative applications such as gobby, AbiCollab and Inkboard.
The Summit format will be freeform and informal. All participating projects will get a chance to present themselves briefly, and over the two days, a series of sessions will be held focussed on specific aspects of CoIP. At the end of these sessions, conclusions and plans of action will be presented to the attendees.
Mailing list
A mailing list has been created for discussion and organisation related to the conference. All attendees are encouraged to join.
Information about the list, including access to the archives and subscription, can be found at http://lists.guug.de/mailman/listinfo/fostel-list. To send an email to the list, post to fostel-list@fostel.org.
Jabber room
There is a Jabber room at xmpp:fostel@conference.fostel.org if you feel the need to talk about some FOSTEL-related stuff.
